Dugdale Bros has long championed the importance of nurturing new generations of tailoring talent, so we are delighted to announce our support of a new initiative that will help to do just that.
Open to a number of colleges across the UK, the final winner of the prestigious prize will be awarded a place on the highly sought after 12-week summer course at the Irish academy, located in the picturesque town of Monaghan.
Taking place from June to August next year, the winner will study under master tailor Rory Duffy, whose illustrious career spans from winning the Golden Shears award to acting as one of the youngest masters to an apprentice at Henry Poole & Co. and lecturing at Parsons The New School in the US.
Not only will the student learn to measure, draft, fit and make a bespoke suit under Rory’s expert guidance, but they will also have the privilege of being tutored in world-renowned Savile Row techniques that have been passed down through generations.
The eminent prize includes course fees covered by the Handcraft Tailor Academy, accommodation and cloth costs sponsored by Dugdale Bros and travel expenses paid by the Textile Institute.
