It’s not every day that we get to rub shoulders with sporting legends, and it’s certainly not every day that we’re asked to clothe them!
But earlier this week, we were honoured to be able to do both, thanks to our support of the Rugby Centurions 2017 event.
Held in London on 23rd November, the inaugural dinner was a fitting celebration of the world’s elite rugby stars, who have each achieved more than 100 international caps in their career.
The impressive line-up of Centurions featured such household names as New Zealand’s Richie McCaw, South Africa’s Bryan Habana and Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll, along with a number of female players, including England’s Amy Garnett, Rochelle Clark and Tamara Taylor.
Having been chosen as the official cloth supplier for the 2017 event, more than 100 metres of our English & Town Classics fabric was expertly transformed by esteemed tailor Dress2Kill into commemorative blazers for the 53 guests of honour.
The timeless elegance of our lightly milled worsted cloth (article number 9443) was the perfect match for the enduring talent of the Centurions, and we were thrilled to be able to meet some of the beneficiaries in person on the night. We were especially honoured to have Alessandro Troncon – the first Italian player to achieve 100 caps – as the guest of honour on our table.
