Following months of preparation, we’re excited to reveal our new bespoke range of buttons.
These premium-quality trimmings have been bevelled from sustainably sourced real horn and mother of pearl, transformed from raw material into our beautiful range by expert Italian craftsmen.
Made from Indian buffalo horn and mother of pearl sourced from the Oceanic region of the Pacific, the buttons have been crafted and finished in Bergamo, a city nestled in the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the fashion capital Milan.
Using natural materials but still ensuring a lustrous finish does present challenges within the manufacturing process. A uniform thickness of sheet blanks must be sourced in order to turn out buttons of the same size, while colour consistency and purity are rigorously checked to ensure uniformity across the resulting range.
The real horn (DB14) collection comprises of five colours – fawn, grey, blue, black and brown. The mother of pearl (DB15) range includes white, grey and blue hues, and both sets are available in sizes of 24L, 32L or 36L.
Colour uniformity guarantees a sleek aesthetic on whatever garment the buttons adorn, while the inimitability of the natural materials we’ve used delivers subtly special results – slight pattern variations render each piece unique, which adds further esteem to these bespoke fastenings.
Trimmings can often be overlooked by designers, but details like these really do make all the difference.
